How to motivate online learners


Following Tips can help in motivating the learners
  1. Create useful and relevant learning experiences based on the age group and interests of your learners
    practical knowledge should be emphasized. A course must be designed that have a relevant material. Learning materials should be the one that can be practiced. Practical knowledge is more valued by adult learners, than excessive details and theories.
  2. Encourage Exploration
    adult learners like children want to construct knowledge with exploration and curiosity and in a meaningful way. That’s why, you must have all sorts of references, short videos, lectures, infographics, materials, podcasts and free resources available.  In such type of learning environment, learner gets more inspired and wants to learn more.
  3. Use social media and discussion forums
    the social media websites are an influential means for cooperation, commentary and sharing. With its help group discussions and communities can be facilitated. In fun and excitement knowledge can be facilitated as social media is fun!
  4. Add a personal touch to the course
    you should add a personal touch in the course. A face is required by the course. Henry Roediger in an experiment divided his students in two groups. Group A focused on studying natural sciences paper for 4 sessions, group B studied the same paper for one session and experimented on it three times. Experimenter stated that, after one week, group B students performed 50% better than Group A, although they studied less then group A. So it proves that "practice makes perfect". 
  4. Make it visually-attractive
    it is generally known that 83% of learning takes place visually.
  5. Involve Emotions
    emotion involve and motivate the learner. It is the tack of the teacher to Get the learner emotionally involved in learning – come up with controversial statements, memories must be knocked, and state some real-life stories. 
  6. Get examples of their workplace
    all the course does not have association with experiments. Sometime a clue is required by the learner that can work as a reminder and make a connection.
